ABOUT OUR LESSONS

Our lessons are structured in a step-by-step format. Each step builds on the previous one and is geared toward developing safe and independent kiteboarders. We emphasize the fundamentals so that even after your lessons, you will be able to progress quickly and safely on your own! We have a maximum of 2 students per instructor to respect safety regulations and offer a premium learning experience. This way the student is never neglected and of course, all our instructors are IKO trained and professionals.

Kite boarding is a sport that people of all ages can enjoy. You do not have to be physically fit or strong to learn how to kite board. We take pride in working with people of all ages, from 9-year-olds to adults in their 70s. Lessons are open to anyone above 35 kg. Some of these individuals have no prior experience with water sports. Others, on the other hand, have had a variety of different experiences. We will work with you regardless of your level of experience or lack thereof to get you kite boarding as quickly as possible.Kite control accounts for 70% of learning how to kite board. The more proficient your kite control, the faster and safer you will learn to kite board. It is important to remember that everyone learns at a different rate. The majority of people learn to kite board in 4 to 10 hours. When you contact us, we will devise a plan that is unique to you.

Hydrofoil Surfing Lessons in KZN

The best way to get started with foiling is to take some quality lessons. Our team at Fruitloops believes in customer satisfaction, and our teaching methods have proven to be extremely effective. If you’ve never tried foil boarding before, we recommend starting with a wake foil lesson behind our boat or jetski, as this is the easiest way to learn before moving on to Kite-, Surf-, or Wing foiling.

After some theory to explain how the foil works we will take you behind the jetski to demonstrate how to ride the foil. This initial lesson will be done in flat water, with a beginner board, similar to a SUP, and a larger foil which will be slower and easier to control. All these elements along with the BBTalking helmet radio system will allow us to help you gain an understanding of how the foil works and experience your first flight.

Learning to foil behind a jet-ski eliminates the stress of simultaneously learning wing and foil skills. This allows one to concentrate on the muscle memory of the foil while the jetski pulls you gradually and consistently. Students with reasonable board skills at the start of the session usually need 1-2 lessons to become accustomed to the feel of the foil. Once you’ve learned this and feel confident, we’ll take you to the open water to kite or surf foil, depending on your desire!
